Hello, my name is James Pfeifer, KE0KEY, founder of Global DX. Let me share my radio/node with you. You will hear what I hear, and can talk to operators on the nodes I connect to. You will hear digital and analog modes on any radio you connect with. Join me as I tune into some digital DX…

I have talked to so many operators that are limited to one mode and are not able to access all that the world of amateur radio offers. A lot are in H.O.A. housing and are unable to put an antenna up to make contact with a repeater in the area.

There are those that have access to only one digital mode, or, Analog node. This limits them to a small number of operators compared to what is available to them. I like to visit a lot of different areas of the world when I turn my radio on, so I built a node that would allow me to do just that.

With my node I can connect to thousands of other nodes worldwide. I can also share that experience with others, and they can join the Q.S.O. , or make a CQ call. I am able to share this node on digital DMR, YSF Fusion, Echolink, and AllStar. Also, all of these modes are bridged together so more people can join the conversation.

You can be a part of it by using one of the listed modes. I do connect to large systems from time to time, and out of respect, I abide by their rules. If you are using my node, please be respectful of all Amateur Radio Operators on the system and follow these simple guidelines.

Guidelines for connecting to node KE0KEY-ND Global DX:

1. When a station un-keys, please wait 4-5 seconds before keying your radio. This allows all links to unlink to receive the next signal. If you don’t, the system you are talking to may not hear you.

2. Please limit your key-up time to 3 minutes. I may be connected to a node with 200 or more repeaters on it. Most of them are set to 3 minutes for a reason, also, some of your transmission will not be heard. This can cause confusion on a repeater that just goes silent. Also, keep in mind, my system has a 3-minute time-out limit set as well.

3. No swearing or profanity is allowed. This will get you banned from my system. Remember, young people are the future of Amateur Radio, and they are listening.

4. Please refrain from topics that can create issues such as politics and religion. This is a common practice in the amateur radio community.

5. If there is a net scheduled on your connection point, please disconnect before the net. If you have a net that you would like to air on this system contact key0key@hotmail.com

6. I reserve the right to disconnect any node that created any noise or interference that can not be resolved within a reasonable amount of time.

7. All operators connected to this system must obey all rules and regulations in the Amateur Radio Service (Part 97).

If you can abide by the guidelines listed above you may connect for as long as you like at any time. Hope to hear you on air soon.

James
